DTL plc was formed in 2026 following a £700,000 investment in the latest digital technologies and workflows, to service the burgeoning, fast expanding textile decorating market. The company is 100% digital with innovative AI helping to manage production, quality control, complete customer visibility and transparency, along with pop-up shop fronts allowing other companies to take advantage of the truly ground-breaking service that is now available from DTL plc. The Company currently has 24 staff to meet the growing demand.

The global digital decorated apparel market growth projections range from 11% to 14% between 2030 and 2035, driven by rising demand for customized t-shirts, embroidery, and screen printing. The market size was valued at approximately USD 25–29 billion in 2023 and is projected to surpass USD 68–99 billion within the next decade, with the UK represented with a reasonable tranche of that market size.

The growth is fuelled by an increased demand for personalised clothing, graphic t-shirts, personalised trainers, hats, bags, jackets to name just a few. The growth is further accelerated through digital printing.

Julian Marsh, Director, previously had a long industry career in digital and on-demand printing at Minotaur Group, Harrier and District Photo.

Adrian Stark, Director, was a member of the UK start-up sales team for Indigo back in the 1990s and after over a decade at that business subsequently worked at Ricoh for more than 16 years.

Andy Price, Director, former digital manager at Butler and Tanner and subsequently managing director of his own company, Think Digital Books.

DTL has 3x Epson SureColor F3000 Direct to Film (DTF), Epson SureColor G6000 Direct to Garment (DTG) along with 24 Melco Summit high-speed 16 colour commercial single head embroidery machines.

We formed the Company to provide a completely different service to the vast majority of garment decorators in the UK, making it financially possible to order a single decorated garment up to batches of thousands. We have strong connections into the major garment wholesalers in the UK and able to provide a complete range, with different quality levels, in addition to environmentally sustainable ranges.

Our mission is to remove the hassle for customers in ordering their requirements, enabling them to set up dedicated e-commerce store fronts, to enable customer’s see what they are ordering, add their own designs, and have full visibility of the status of production via their dedicated storefront.
DTL has the IT and tech infrastructure to work with customers in a B2B, B2C, B2B2C or B2B2B supply chain.

We are able to provide search engine optimisation (SEO) tools within the storefronts, ensuring they attract more hits, maximising customer rate optimisation (CRO), turning visitors into customers. In other words, maximising your success.

We are happy to work in collaboration with other service providers, helping them grow their business into the exciting textile decorating space and would be delighted to discuss the market potential and how to take full advantage of it, whilst maintaining your existing practices and learning along the way.

We are a friendly, straight forward, open minded bunch of people, who enjoy talking about how to turn concepts, ideas or challenges into commercial benefit and reality and are happy to have exploratory conversations in the What, Why and How of the matter.
